• Oceans, the last wild territory: This exhibition consists of an audiovisual tour of the seabed based on 480 hours of unpublished images selected from the documentary Oceans, the greatest testimony of the seabed ever filmed. A major attraction of the exhibition is a large curved screen that multiplies the sensation of immersion and so doubles enjoyment of this unique opportunity to directly experience the oceans of the five continents. The exhibition also includes a circuit consisting of 14 large high-definition screens that show marine animals at their full size and project stereoscopic 3D images that are viewed with special glasses. There are also interactive displays offering basic information on the oceans, a children’s activity area and a face-in-hole photocall area. Museu Blau, Plaça Leonardo da Vinci 4-5, Parc del Forum, metro Maresme-Forum L4 (Rambla Prim exit). General admission: 6,5 €

• ‘The Best Design of the Year’ (exhibition): The unmissable expo for seeing and understanding what is going on in the world of design today in all of its expressions. The exhibition comprises nearly 500 works and projects from here and other parts of the world thanks to the increasingly important internationalization of the awards organized by the FAD associations. The show is endorsed by the work of the judging panels, which are made up of professionals of national and international prestige and whose selection decisions are governed by the most stringent criteria of excellence, innovation and originality.  Until 31 October at Disseny Hub Barcelona, Plaça de les Glòries, metro Glòries (L1). • La Setmana del Llibre en Català: A fair that recognises the work of the publishers who publish in Catalan and the bookshops that bring the reader closer to their publications, giving visibility to the books and magazines. From the 7th until the 18th readers, writers, bookstores and publishers meet each other. • Fiesta Mayor Poble Nou: Until the 16th of September you can celebrate the fiesta mayor of Poble Nou. Expect concerts in small streets, correfoc, castelles and a fancy fair close to the beach. • Big Band Basket Beat Barcelona: From the artistic area of the Basket Beat Association, the Big Band Basket Beat Barcelona project is born: an orchestra that works with the rhythm and loudness generated by the balls combined with other instruments. The BBBBB helps young people who have developed personal growth processes through the Basket Beat methodology, the basis of the Educational Beat Association, along with musicians of different traditions. • Closing concert for Music in the Parks: Music in the Parks included 49 free concerts around thirty green spaces in the city until today. A way of enjoying nature and music in the city.  Tonight at 21:00 there is the last concert of this season of “Txell Sust & August Tharrats Trio” in Parc del Clot, metro  Clot (L1 and L2). This summer we went with students to a concert in de park at Nou Barris and another concert in park Ciutadella, we enjoyed it a lot.

• Palo Alto Market: After a break in August, its Palo Alto time again, sit in the garden, have some snacks, a beer, live music in the background (Ljubliana & The Seawolf at Aperol Spritz Club from 20:00 to 21:00 for example), watch all the people pass by and you will have a great afternoon. Design, gourmet food, street market and live music all together in the beautiful garden of Palo Alto. • Fiestas de Gracía (Last Day): Today is your last chance to see the streets of Gracía decorated with spectacular ornaments, prepared by neighbours for months. They hope to win the price for the best decorated street. La Festa Gracia is very popular in whole Catalonia. It attracts citizens of Barcelona and all foreigners who come to the district to enjoy the summer terraces, live music and most of all, the beautifully decorated streets. We even helped the neighbours out with the decorations. It was so much fun that this year we are helping them again 🙂

• Música als Parcs: Music in the Parks includes 49 free concerts around thirty green spaces in the city until 30 August. A way of enjoying nature and music in the city.  Consult the programme. Tonight at 21:00 there is a concert of “Payés Quartet” in Parc de la Ciutadella, metro Arc de Triomf (L1). This summer we went with students to a concert in de park at Nou Barris and we enjoyed it a lot. We will definitely visit some more great concerts this year!

Friday, 24th August

• Nits amb Ritme: Casa de les Punxes organises a special musical offer in the summer: Nits amb ritme starts next Friday June 22nd. Casa Terradas, Josep Puig i Cadafalch’s masterpiece, opens its 600m2 rooftop in the center of Barcelona in order to host the concerts that will be played at June, July and August. This year Nits amb Ritme edition includes the visit to the exposition (from 19:00 to 20:00) the main floor and the terrace, to enjoy a journey through the history and symbolism of one of the most paradigmatic monuments of Catalan modernism. Jazz, swing, bossanova and soul will sound every Friday at 20:00 on the most imposing modernist terrace in Barcelona. Discover Casa de les Punxes at night and vibrate with live music, while you are drinking a glass of cava in an emblematic setting.
