Frequently asked questions

How big is Barcelona?
About 1.6 million people live in the centre of Barcelona Including the suburbs there are about 4,2 million inhabitants.
How can I get to Barcelona?
Barcelona is well-connected with all airports worldwide. You can also take a coach from some European cities to Barcelona - and of course you can also come by train or by car.
What is public transport like?
Public transport in Barcelona is excellent, you can get everywhere by the well-connected metro system or by bus. It's very affordable as well.
What's the weather like?
Barcelona has a Mediterranean climate with mild, humid winters and warm, dry summers. Barcelona is located on the eastern coast of the Iberian Peninsula, so Atlantic west winds often arrive in Barcelona with low humidity, producing no rain. The proximity of the Atlantic, its latitude, and the relief, are the reasons why the summers are not as dry as in most other Mediterranean locations. Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barcelona#Climate for more information.

Yes, but be sure to have the right papers (study visa, etc.) to be able to come and study in Spain. If you are an EEA (European Economic Area) national you will not require a visa for any of our destinations. Otherwise please ask your local Spanish Embassy or Consulate and/or visit the Spanish Foreign Office website (http://www.exteriores.gob.es). Go to the 'Consular Service' section in the 'General Information' menu, then click the link 'nationality and visa for foreigners'.
